Heliotroop wordt ook wel bloedsteen genoemd. Het heeft zijn naam te danken aan het Grieks, Helios, wat ‘zon’ betekent. De Heliotroop is een donkergroene steen met rode vlekjes en spikkels. In de middeleeuwen dacht men dat de rode vlekken in de steen het bloed was van Christus. Hierdoor werden er magische krachten toegeschreven aan de steen. Deze steen wordt veel gevonden in India, Brazili\u00eb, Australi\u00eb en de Verenigde Staten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
