Dragon is a somewhat lesser-known oil, but it works wonders! You can use the oil to treat a wide range of ailments, both mental and physical. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tarragon oil has a strong, herbaceous scent. If you smell it for a little longer, a faint scent of aniseed emerges. Tarragon (or Estragon) is a perennial herb that grows up to 150 cm tall. The leaves are slightly hairy, lance-shaped and dark green. The herb has small, inconspicuous, yellow-green flowers. The essential oil is extracted by steam distillation of the flower heads. The herb is native to Asia but is now cultivated all over the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What can you use Dragon for?<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Most people know dragon as a lovely culinary herb for adding flavour to soups. But its essential oil can be used for so many other things!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The name \u2018Dragon\u2019 comes from the Latin Dracunculus<\/em> which means \u2018little dragon\u2019, probably because the curled roots resemble a dragon\u2019s tongue. In the Middle Ages, it was believed that the herb could cure a dragon\u2019s bite\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dragon is also commonly known as \u2018snake herb\u2019. This is because people used to believe that the herb could cure the bites and stings of poisonous animals.
The ancient Greeks used the herb as an anaesthetic for toothache. Later, of course, this became the well-known clove \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

This naturally pure essential oil can aid digestion, both of food and of emotional issues. It stimulates blood circulation and has a warming effect. Dragon oil can also have an invigorating effect and help relieve cramps associated with menstrual problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Using this single essential oil can help you regain your courage. So if you\u2019re sitting on the sofa feeling indecisive, afraid to make decisions, use this essential oil to help you take the next steps. It helps you accept situations as they are at that moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But you could also try using Dragon for hay fever, rheumatic pain, bruises, flatulence, bloating and a poor appetite. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

How do you use the oil?<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Although dragon is well known as a culinary herb, we advise against ingesting the essential oil. This is because essential oil is a highly concentrated product, much stronger than the herb itself. There is also no need to ingest it; when applied to the skin in a diluted form, the oil is absorbed very effectively into the system.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Diffuser or burner<\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Use the Dragon in a diffuser<\/a> or aroma burner<\/a> to give your mind a bit more \u2018oomph\u2019. It really does help you to get off the sofa and start taking steps forward. It can also help you to clarify and resolve the problems you\u2019re struggling with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do you suffer from hay fever? If so, try a mixture of Dragon, Cypress<\/a> and Cedar<\/a> in the diffuser or burner. Use 2 drops of any oil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Applying ointments, massaging and inhaling<\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

For hay fever, apply 5 drops of Dragon essential oil mixed with 5 drops of carrier oil to the sides of the nose and temples. You can also mix the diffuser recipe given above with a carrier oil and apply it to the chest and back. You can also try cupping here for immediate relief.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stiff muscles? Mix 15 drops of Dragon with 10 drops Lemon<\/a> in 50 ml base oil<\/a>. Use this to massage the sore muscles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you\u2019re suffering from bloating, heartburn or flatulence, mix 1 drop of Dragon with 1 tablespoon of carrier oil and massage it into your stomach. This is also effective for menstrual problems such as cramps, as well as for inducing menstruation if your period is overdue. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To treat a bruise, you can mix 4 dr. Dragon with 4 dr. Lavender<\/a>, 5 Dr. Geranium<\/a> and 2 Drs. Ginger<\/a> in 10 ml. Arnica oil<\/a>. Apply this to the sore spot several times a day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can relieve rheumatic pain by mixing 4 dr. Dragon with 2 dr. Lavender, 2 dr. Elemi<\/a> and 2 Drs. Eucalyptus<\/a> in 10 ml of base oil. Rub this into the painful areas twice a day.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

In the bath or a foot bath<\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s lovely to have a warm bath with Dragon to improve blood circulation in the skin, to induce menstruation and to relieve abdominal cramps. Run a warm bath with a splash of base oil and a generous scoop of Epsom salt<\/a> and 5 dr. Dragon. Lie down and relax! No bath? Then prepare yourself a lovely warm foot bath \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some final information about Dragon<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\u21a0 Not<\/strong> suitable for pregnant women or women who are breastfeeding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u21a0 Not<\/strong> Use in people with a history of epileptic seizures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u21a0 Use the Dragon not<\/strong> directly on the skin. This may cause allergic reactions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
