Amethyst belongs to the quartz group and ranges in colour from light to deep purple. It is a fairly well-known stone and is therefore found in countless places around the world. From Africa to Canada, beautiful rough amethyst gemstones are frequently found. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

De naam is afkomstig van een Grieks woord wat ‘Niet dronken’ betekent. De verklaring van de naam ligt in een oude Griekse mythe van de god Bacchus die uit kwaadheid de eerste die hij zou tegenkomen zou laten opeten door tijgers. De ongelukkige Amethist was op weg om haar plichten te vervullen bij de schrijn van Diana. Toen de tijgers opsprongen veranderde Diana het meisje in een helder, doorzichtig kristal.
