Selenite is a beautiful, ethereal stone that you can recognise immediately by its soft, pearlescent sheen. The name is derived from the Greek word\u00a0sel\u0113n\u0113<\/em>, which means \u2018moon\u2019, a reference to its silvery-white lustre, reminiscent of moonlight. It is no coincidence that selenite is also known as the \u2018Moonstone of Light\u2019 (although it is a different stone to the official moonstone).<\/p>\n

This stone is mainly found in countries such as Morocco, Mexico, Australia and the US, where it is mined as transparent gypsum crystals.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
