Turquoise is mainly found in countries such as Iran, Tibet, the US, China and Mexico. The colour ranges from sky blue to blue-green, often with brown or black veins. Every stone is unique, just like you.<\/p>\n

The name \u2018Turquoise\u2019 comes from the French word\u00a0“turquois”<\/em>, wat “Turks” betekent. Hoewel de steen zelf oorspronkelijk niet uit Turkije komt, werd zij via Turkije naar Europa gebracht vanuit mijnen in Iran (het oude Perzi\u00eb). Europese handelaren noemden de steen daarom \u201cTurkse steen\u201d, en zo ontstond de naam die we vandaag nog steeds gebruiken.<\/p>\n

Throughout the centuries, turquoise has held special significance in various cultures. For example, the ancient Egyptians used it in jewellery and amulets, whilst Native American tribes regarded the stone as sacred, a bridge between heaven and earth, bringing protection and wisdom.<\/p>\n
