Black moonstone is mainly found in India, Madagascar and Sri Lanka. It is often dark grey to black with a subtle sheen, sometimes with a silvery or peach-coloured glow when you move it in the light.

General operation

Black Moonstone is a powerful yet gentle stone that is deeply connected to the feminine, intuitive and spiritual side of yourself. It is often referred to as a true “women’s stone”, and for good reason. This stone helps you to connect with your inner Goddess, with your strength, gentleness and ancient wisdom. It gently awakens your feminine energy and supports you through all the processes associated with it.

Are you sensitive to the lunar cycles? If, for example, you feel restless or more emotional during a full moon, then a Black Moonstone amulet is a lovely stone to carry with you. It helps you to feel more grounded and to stay balanced, despite the energetic shifts around you. It brings calm and stability at a time when it feels as though everything is in flux.

This is also a lovely stone to use during pregnancy. A Black Moonstone amulet helps you to stay connected to your body and your baby throughout your pregnancy, and provides inner strength and confidence during labour. It is a gentle source of strength when you feel vulnerable, and helps you to continue trusting your intuition.

For men, Black Moonstone actually has a balancing effect. When masculine energy (doing, thinking, control) predominates, this stone helps to give the feminine (feeling, being, surrender) more space. In this way, it supports the balance between Yin and Yang, between action and stillness, thinking and feeling.

What also makes Black Moonstone special is its spiritual effect. It helps you stay grounded during spiritual work, so that you don’t “drift off” but remain firmly rooted. At the same time, it opens up your intuition and strengthens your spiritual development. It makes it easier to establish a pure connection with the energy of the moon – a deep, mysterious force that is always present within and around you.

Care

Moonstone is a brittle stone, so it is delicate and can easily get scratched. It is best to avoid direct sunlight and water. Read here more information on cleaning and charging.
