The name sodalite is derived from the Latin word ‘sodium’, referring to the sodium content of the stone.

Sodalite ranges in colour from deep blue to violet-blue and often contains white veins or flecks of calcite. This combination of colours perfectly reflects its properties: the tranquillity and depth of the blue combined with the clarity of the white. A stone for inner clarity, self-awareness and powerful communication from the heart.

General operation

Sodalite is a powerful stone for those who wish to free themselves from old patterns, limiting beliefs and the ever-recurring voice of the inner victim. The energy of sodalite helps you to look at yourself honestly, without judgement but with loving clarity. It brings insight into your own behaviour and shows you where you are holding yourself back or unconsciously working against yourself. This creates space to feel your own strength, and builds the confidence that you can indeed move forward. Sodalite encourages self-acceptance and supports you in developing self-respect. It becomes increasingly easier to stand up for yourself, set your boundaries and remain true to who you really are, with both gentleness and firmness.

This stone is also particularly suitable for people who struggle with fears, feelings of guilt or inner turmoil. Sodalite helps to soothe these feelings and offers comfort. At the same time, it has a protective effect, particularly against electromagnetic radiation – a very welcome quality in this age of constant digital stimuli.

As sodalite is linked to the throat chakra, it promotes clear communication and helps you speak your truth. It is particularly well-suited to people who speak a lot or are in leadership roles, such as teachers, coaches or managers. Sodalite helps you convey your message with calmness, strength and conviction. It promotes harmony and cooperation and fosters a sense of connection and solidarity within a group.

Care

Sodalite can be cleansed and recharged in all sorts of ways. Read here more information on cleaning and charging.
