The bathroom is much more than just a place to freshen up quickly. It can become a personal sanctuary, a place where you can unwind, let go and recharge. With the power of essential oils, you can turn everyday routines into magical rituals.
Personally, I really enjoy using the lunar cycle to work, and that includes my little moments in the bathroom. It’s lovely to set aside some time for yourself during the waning moon and reflect on what you no longer need, so that you can let it go.
You can support this beautifully by doing some energy cleansing: letting go of energy and giving back what isn’t yours. Run yourself a lovely warm bath, light some candles, put on some nice healing music and clean your bathroom with Salie or Palo Santo.

In a small bowl, make a smooth mixture of two generous scoops Epsom salt, a generous splash base oil and 10 to 15 drops of essential oil of your choice. This is important to ensure that the oil is absorbed by the salt and the carrier oil. That way, it does not come into direct contact with the skin and emulsifies with the bath water.
Get into the bath and only add the mixture once you’re in. Epsom salt helps to relax your muscles and joints and cleanses you of any negative energy. So it’s a brilliant salt for both relaxation and energetic cleansing!
Don’t have a bath? No problem! Run a warm foot bath in a small basin with one generous tablespoon of Epsom salt, a small splash of carrier oil and three to five drops of your chosen essential oil. Or drip the essential oil onto a flannel and place it in the shower. The heat and moisture will help the scent to spread beautifully.
Enjoy the lovely warmth, the scent and the music…
There is a wide range of essential oils to choose from for use in the bath. It is best to avoid using some essential oils in the bath, as they may irritate the skin or cause unwanted reactions. These include “warming” oils such as Cinnamon, Clove, Lemongrass, Peppermint and Thyme, as well as citrus oils, which are photosensitising. Camphor, Black Pepper and Nutmeg are also best avoided in the bath. Here are some of my favourite oils to use in a ritual bath.

I absolutely love this combination of two oils! The sweet scent of cedar, combined with the freshness of eucalyptus, creates a refreshing yet comforting moment. Himalayan cedar is known for deepening spiritual practices and rituals. Just like eucalyptus, it also has a purifying effect. They really are a brilliant pair! It’s also lovely to use during sauna infusions, but unfortunately I don’t have a sauna in my bathroom.
Lord Saint Germain is the guardian of the Violet Flame. This flame is used to burn away all burdens and negative energy. This purifies us and allows us to enjoy our lives without hindrance. Visualise a violet flame and let it move gently through your aura and body. For every blockage that you no longer need, ask Lord Saint Germain to remove it. See and feel this happening. Take a few deep breaths in and out.
Add crystals to your water for an extra boost of energy. In particular, the Golden Triangle is ideal for this. The combination of the crystals Rock crystal, Amethyst and Rose quartz ensures an optimal flow of energy.
