Elemi can be used in various ways. It’s a good, pleasant oil to have at home as it’s very versatile.
Use 2 dr. Elemi and 2 Drs. Scots Pine in a diffuser or little burner for a lovely forest scent. It’ll help you relax straight away.
Are you feeling stressed? Then combine 3 dr. Elemi with 3 dr. Lavender for a bit of relaxation.
Add 3 drops of Elemi to a bowl of warm water for a steam treatment to relieve a cold. You can also add the essential oil to a base oil Apply to the chest and back to relieve a persistent cough and bronchitis. This is due to the expectorant properties of elemi.
Mix 3 dr. Elemi with 2 dr. Rosemary with a dash of Almond oil and use it to massage your hands and/or feet every evening if they feel cold in winter.
Put a few drops of Elemi on a cotton pad and carry it with you, or place it next to you in bed when you’re feeling stressed or anxious. That way, the scent can work its magic all day and/or night.
Are you feeling stressed? Mix 6 drops of elemi and 3 drops of lavender with a dash of carrier oil and Epsom salt and add this to a warm bath. Do take your time and lie back and relax for a good 20 minutes. Make sure you can lie or sit quietly for a while after your bath too. This will help reduce stress and tension.
