Black Spruce Essential Oil

I came across Black Spruce whilst I was writing my book (yes, that’s right, it’s on its way!). I was captivated by the lovely description of this special oil. And luckily, I found it at the supplier’s and ordered it straight away! As soon as the oil arrived, I was sold – I absolutely love it!

The Black Spruce is a species of pine native to Canada and the United States. It is a tall, slender tree with a trunk that grows straight upwards. The branches remain fairly short so that they do not break when weighed down by heavy snow. The roots are deeply anchored in the ground, which means that the Black Spruce is not easily blown over during severe storms. The tree is also an important source of timber for the paper industry.

The Black Spruce’s root system extends as deep as 14 metres into the ground! I could feel this straight away; I was immediately drawn into the earth the moment I opened the bottle. So the oil has a hugely grounding effect! The scent is sweet and woody, and it evokes the feeling of being a woodcutter.

The Northern Lights

The magnificent phenomenon of the Northern Lights is a common sight in Canada. These are accelerated charged particles that collide with the Earth’s atmosphere from the Earth’s magnetosphere and can then be seen in the night sky as a stunning display of colours. The electrical charge is absorbed by the needles of these trees. That is why this essential oil is not only a good way to ground yourself, but also connects you to the subtle world. The indigenous tribes of Canada and North America believed that the Black Spruce helped them to make contact more quickly with ‘the Great Spirit’, and they used the tree to attract well-being and prosperity.

I immediately felt as though I had been connected to nature and its nature spirits in an instant. I could also feel the playfulness that these beings naturally possess within my own energy.

I immediately felt the energy in my third eye become clearer and more relaxed, and it really refreshed my mind after a hot day at the office. The scent creates a sense of space and helps you let go of the day and its worries. You feel at ease in your own energy again, so that when you get home, you can be completely yourself once more.

Uses of this essential oil

When you’re feeling very mentally tired, this oil is like a refreshing walk in the woods; it clears and calms the mind and offers support when you’re going through a difficult period in your life.

Use the oil in a bath, foot bath or as a massage oil. Of course, this oil is also lovely in a diffuser; it creates a warm and fresh atmosphere. The oil blends well with Lemon, Lavender, other Pines oils, Cedar wood and Eucalyptus. Of course, there are plenty of other oils that are lovely to combine, but these are the scents we’ve already experimented with ;).
