Wendy is a coordinating activities coordinator at a residential care home The Hoge Hop in Hoorn. This care home is home to sixty-five residents living with some form of Alzheimer’s. Her days are devoted to organising meaningful activities, tailored to the needs of each individual resident. For some time now, she has been enjoying working with the essential oils from The Green Linden, and she enjoys talking about her experiences in her work as an activities coordinator.
“A number of colleagues already use De Groene Linde products in their personal lives. That’s how I came across your website, and I found it very user-friendly; it came across as warm and welcoming. The clear explanations of the products in the blog posts are really useful if you want to promote them within your team!”
Following several discussions, we looked at how we could make use of De Groene Linde products for our residents.
A diffuser is used during the activities, and the residents respond very well to it. We use active scents for this purpose.
For the palliative care phase, we use Lavender or Bergamot Reggio. The use of aromatherapy was first discussed with the doctor and managers. We make extensive use of the oils in a diffuser and of the room sprays.

During your care afternoon, which I attended, I came away with lots of ideas. We’re now making scented plaster stones with the activities group. We put these in a small bag, attach them to a wheelchair or bed, and add a few drops of essential oil. The scent then becomes very personal and tailored to the individual.
At the moment, we’re seeing a diffuser in almost every living room, accompanied by the full range of De Linde Care fragrances to suit different stages.
”It’s wonderful to see what a difference scent can make to one’s peace of mind."
