Description
How is beeswax made?
Honeybees collect nectar from flowers. In the hive or basket, this is further processed and placed in the cells of the comb, where the nectar matures into honey. The honeycomb is sealed by what is known as a wax seal. The entire honeycomb is made of beeswax. The wax is a secretion produced by worker bees. The flakes are pulled out with their legs, chewed and mixed with saliva. The fresh wax is white and translucent; it turns yellowish due to the addition of resinous or balsamic substances from pollen or other plant materials found in or around the hive.
The melting point of this product is 60˚C – 65˚C.
