Raw moonstone, approx. 3.5 cm

Chakra: sacrum, third eye and crown chakra
Star sign: Cancer, Libra and Scorpio

The name "moonstone" comes from the fact that the stone’s surface has a soft, pearlescent sheen reminiscent of moonlight. This sheen is also known as the ‘moonlight effect’ (or adularescence). The stone is found in countries such as India, Sri Lanka, Madagascar, Brazil and Australia.

General operation

Moonstone naturally has an energetic connection with the moon and its cycles. Think of the way the moon draws water at high and low tide, and the influence the lunar cycle has on some people. If you’re sensitive to these ebb and flow effects – for example, experiencing poor sleep, mood swings or restlessness around the full moon – the Moonstone can offer you support. It helps you to stay calmer and react less intensely to these energetic fluctuations.

The Moonstone Cuddle Stone has been regarded for thousands of years as a stone associated with the Divine Feminine. It symbolises fertility, gentleness, intuition and the ability to go with the flow of life rather than fighting against it. The stone’s energy invites you to embrace your feminine qualities: to allow yourself to feel, to trust your intuition, and to make space for creativity and inspiration.

For women, the Moonstone Comfort Stone acts as a gentle guide, helping you to connect with your natural rhythms, such as the menstrual cycle, the phases of the moon, or your inner seasons. It helps you to live more in harmony with who you truly are.

For men, Moonstone has a balancing effect. In a world where there is often a strong emphasis on action, thinking and achievement (masculine energy), Moonstone helps to strengthen the gentle, empathetic and receptive side as well. It supports finding a balance between doing and being, between strength and feeling.

Care

Moonstone is a brittle stone, so it is delicate and can easily get scratched. It is best to avoid direct sunlight and water. Read here more information on cleaning and charging.
