Rhyolite is a volcanic rock formed during explosive volcanic eruptions. It sounds intense, and that is precisely what makes this stone so powerful. It embodies the energy of fire, transformation and tranquillity. You’ll find rhyolite in places where there was once a great deal of volcanic activity, such as in Australia, Mexico, the US and Iceland.
The name comes from the Greek word rhyx, which means ‘to flow’, a reference to the way in which the molten rock once flowed out. And that meaning fits in nicely with the stone’s effect: allowing emotions to flow, letting go of patterns and no longer holding yourself back.

Tips for use
- You can use an obelisk to channel energy. Place the tip in a spot where the energy needs extra cleansing. This could be a spot in your home or on your body, such as a chakra
