This time, a special story from Friesland!
Alberta is the director of an assisted living scheme, where staff work every day to create a safe, stable and homely environment for people who are unable to live entirely independently. This scheme provides loving and practical support to residents with a wide range of care needs.
What makes this project particularly special is the use of scent frequencies as an additional support in the day-to-day care process. The essential oils are used at various times, both in one-to-one sessions and in group settings, to promote calm, balance and positive energy.
Alberta shares her personal experiences of working with these scent frequencies in practice. She explains how certain scents help to create a calmer atmosphere within the group, how residents respond to their favourite sprays, and how the use of scent has proved to be a valuable addition to standard care.
“My name is Alberta and I am the director of three supported housing schemes at present. The homes are for people with ASD (autism spectrum disorder) aged 18 and over.”.
Through an energy therapist with whom we work closely, we were introduced to the products from De Groene Linde. At the moment, we mainly use aura sprays. This is how we set the Clean Energy in rooms where difficult conversations have taken place.

If a resident is struggling with certain thought patterns that are not based on facts and which are hindering their ability to function, we use the spray Letting go by. By using these, they can restore a sense of calm and clarity.
This really is one of my favourites to use – it works so well with our target audience!
Sleep soundly with the scents of De Groene Linde
The The ‘Sleep Well’ range We use them as part of the evening routine, and they help the residents feel very calm before they go to bed. We’ve noticed a big difference compared to before we started using the sprays; things used to be a bit restless then. Now that we use them every evening, we’ve created a sort of ‘anchor’, so that the scents are familiar and the residents can switch into relaxation mode.
We also make use of the Protection spray of the HSP range. This is used when residents have to do something they don’t particularly like.
All in all, we use a lot of the range! And we’re very positive about it.
To round off, I’d like to share another experience with you to show what effect essential oils can have on a person.
”One of our residents, whose mother had been admitted to hospital, was naturally in a state and wanted only one thing: to be with his mother in hospital.”.
Unfortunately, that wasn’t feasible at the time, so we had to Worry-free applied before bedtime. The resident slept for no less than 13 hours (!!). He thought it was brilliant and said that the ‘magic spray’ reminded him of the smell of the hospital, and that it made him feel, in his mind at least, a little closer to his mother.”
Whenever he’s having a hard time, he asks for the ‘magic spray’. ”Isn’t this just lovely!"
