Blue apatite is a phosphate mineral with a bright blue-green colour and a lustrous surface. It is mainly found in Madagascar, Brazil, Mexico and Russia. The name derives from the Greek word ‘apate’ (deception), as it often resembles other gemstones.
General operation
Blue Apatite is a powerful stone associated with inspiration, communication and spiritual growth. Its deep blue colour radiates a calm and enlightening energy. The stone is often used to promote mental clarity, intuitive development and self-expression. Blue Apatite has a strong connection with the throat chakra. As a result, this stone helps you to express your thoughts and feelings honestly and clearly. The third eye also has a strong connection with this stone. You can therefore carry this stone with you to strengthen your intuition and psychic abilities. Particularly during meditation, this stone can help you gain clear and lucid insights.
Do you suffer from blockages or impurities in your aura? Blue Apatite helps you to clear these away. It can also help you to let go of old patterns and beliefs that hinder your spiritual growth.
Blue Apatite helps you to achieve your goals. It has a motivating and empowering effect. Your concentration is high, and you can think clearly and see the bigger picture. If you do find yourself caught in a negative spiral, Blue Apatite will help you see the positive side again.
If you know that you are being affected by past lives, Blue Apatite is a good choice for processing and letting go of the trauma. Children with autism benefit greatly from this stone because of the gentle energy it radiates.
Care
Apatite can be cleansed and recharged in all sorts of ways, but it is best not to cleanse it with water. Read here more information on cleaning and charging.

Tips for use
- You can use an obelisk to channel energy. Place the tip in a spot where the energy needs extra cleansing. This could be a spot in your home or on your body, such as a chakra
- Place the obelisk in your living room, workspace or meditation corner to create a calming and protective energy
- During your meditation, place the obelisk in front of you, with the tip pointing towards you. This helps to draw the energy towards you and can make your meditation deeper and more powerful. Alternatively, hold the obelisk during meditation to allow the energy to flow through your hands into your body
- Place smaller crystals or stones near the obelisk to charge them. The obelisk’s energy amplifies and renews the energetic frequencies of the other stones
- Place the obelisk on your altar or in another special place and point it towards an object or photograph that you wish to manifest. Focus your thoughts on your intentions and visualise your goal whilst feeling the energy from the obelisk flowing towards you
