Selenite is a beautiful, ethereal stone that you can recognise immediately by its soft, pearlescent sheen. The name is derived from the Greek word selēnē, which means ‘moon’, a reference to its silvery-white lustre, reminiscent of moonlight. It is no coincidence that selenite is also known as the ‘Moonstone of Light’ (although it is a different stone to the official moonstone).
This stone is mainly found in countries such as Morocco, Mexico, Australia and the US, where it is mined as transparent gypsum crystals.
General operation
Selenite is a particularly beautiful stone if you’re interested in spirituality. It protects you and brings calm and peace within you, whilst also radiating these qualities to those around you. It cleanses spaces, other stones and even auras with its high, pure vibration.
This stone is known for its protective properties, particularly against negative influences of a spiritual nature. It helps you to keep your intentions pure and opens the channel to the angelic realm. You’ll find it easier to connect with angelic energy, beings of light and spirit guides, and you’ll be able to receive their messages more clearly.
If you work with light, energy or healing, selenite is a wonderful stone to use. It grounds the high energy of the angels, helping you to stay firmly grounded whilst working with higher frequencies. Selenite is also a powerful companion during meditation: it calms the mind, opens your crown chakra and helps you to receive inspiration and insights into your life lessons.
Care
Selenite cannot be cleaned with water, as the stone dissolves when it comes into contact with water. Selenite is a soft stone (hardness 2 on the Mohs scale), so always handle it with care and respect. Read here more information on cleaning and charging.
The photo is an example of the disc you will receive. We take great care to find the most beautiful stones and are therefore confident that you will receive one that suits you.

Tips for use
