Safe use of essential oils for babies: tips and products

We are often asked whether essential oils are safe to use on babies. Personally, we believe you need to be very careful with little ones. A baby may absorb the chemical substances that by nature are not yet able to process the substances found in essential oils properly. We therefore recommend that essential oils are not used on babies for the first 6 months. For the very youngest children, we therefore offer this safe product Baby Tools developed using the frequencies of essential oils and crystals.

After 6 months, your little one will be able to process the substances a bit better, so you can start using certain essential oils. However, it’s important to always bear in mind the following when it comes to little ones:; Less is more!

To make things easy, we’ve created a lovely range of gentle products specially designed for little ones aged 6 months and over, featuring essential oils for babies.

Essential oils for babies:
The Baby range

This range includes a variety of products covering the most common themes. After all, there are certain ‘little problems’ that young children often face, and you’ll want to support your little one through them. There are also different types of products within each theme, designed to make it as easy as possible for you to use them.

𝙲𝚘𝚞𝚐𝚑 & 𝙲𝚘𝚕𝚍

Ingredients: Rosalina, Ravensara, Lime, Lavender

Nothing is as annoying as a little one with a blocked nose. Your child may find it particularly difficult at night, which ultimately leads to a broken night’s sleep. It’s really not nice! That’s why we’re introducing Cough & Cold, a lovely blend to help your little one breathe a bit more freely again.

The blend Cough & Cold We’ve produced a range of different products. So there’s bound to be something useful for you.

Rubbing oil, A really lovely product because it’s ready to use straight away. Use the pipette to apply a few drops of the oil (see the guide below) to your hand and rub it in until it feels nice and warm. Then apply it to your child’s chest and between their shoulders. It also works wonders when applied under their feet before bedtime!

6–12 months 12–24 months

2 sts on each foot, 3 sts on each foot
2 sts on the front and back, 2 sts on the front and back
up to 3 times a day up to 4 to 5 times a day

Bath oil, a lovely product to help your little one with safe essential oils. A fantastic product to use before bedtime. Make sure the bathroom is nice and warm so your little one can relax in a warm bath with a splash of this bath oil.

In addition to these two products, the Cough & Cold, just like the other themes, it is also available as an essential oil, roll-on and massage oil.

Roll on, It’s really handy to always have with you. Rub a little onto your own hands and apply it to your child’s skin.

Essential oils for babies, Great for diffusing throughout the room using a diffuser. Don’t leave the diffuser on all day. When your baby is still very young (just 6 months old), it’s best not to place the diffuser right next to the playpen, but a little further away from your baby. The scent spreads well throughout the room, so plenty of it will reach your baby.

Massage oil, to give your little one a lovely massage. By massaging your little one with love and care, you’re also creating a special moment just for the two of you. Babies really enjoy this! Make sure the room is warm and that your baby has a nice, soft place to lie down. Have some warm towels ready to keep your baby cosy. Put on some gentle music and start the massage. Don’t apply too much pressure – a gentle touch is really all it takes. Make sure you’re sitting comfortably too, so that you can enjoy this moment and relax a little 😉. The massage oils are based on Sesame oil and Chamomile Macerate.

𝙻𝚘𝚟𝚎 & 𝙹𝚘𝚢

Ingredients: Bergamot Reggio, Mandarin, Roos

A lovely scent to bring a bit of love and happiness. During the first few weeks, you’ll probably still be on cloud nine and busy with visitors. After these first hectic weeks, things will settle down a bit and you’ll have more time for yourself and your little one. Sometimes it can be a bit tricky. You’ll need to get used to each other and get to know each other’s rhythms. Let this lovely fragrance help support you and your little one.

𝚂𝚊𝚟𝚎 & 𝚂𝚎𝚌𝚞𝚛𝚎

Ingredients: Lavender, Tangerine, Bergamot Reggio, Neroli 10%, Atlas cedar

A lovely scent to help your little one feel safe and secure. Sometimes little ones find it hard to relax and settle down. This scent frequency helps ensure that your little one’s energy flows properly throughout their body. You help them to ground themselves properly, establishing a connection between their body and the earth. This will bring greater calm, allowing your little one to relax completely.

Ingredients: Lavender, Mandarin, Chamomile Rooms 10%, Palmarosa

A lovely scent to help your little one sleep soundly. The oils selected are known for their calming properties, so your little one can drift off to sleep feeling relaxed. It’s also great to use when your little one is having vivid dreams.
