Angelite is a soft, light-blue stone found mainly in Peru. It is sometimes found in other parts of the world, but the finest, most transparent specimens almost always come from the Andes region of Peru. The stone forms from the mineral celestine, and is sometimes regarded as a softer variety of that mineral. Angelite is relatively rare and is mined by hand, making each piece unique.

The name Angelite is derived from the English word "Angel", which means “angel”. This refers to the calming, gentle and loving energy of the stone, which is often associated with protection, spiritual guidance and communication with angels.
