Rosewood essential oil has a warm, gentle and slightly floral-woody scent that immediately evokes a sense of harmony and balance. The oil is extracted from the wood of the Aniba rosaeodora, a tree native to the Amazon region.
The aroma combines the warmth of wood with a subtle rose-like sweetness. This gives the fragrance a feeling that is both grounding and heart-opening. The wood is carefully processed and transformed through steam distillation into an oil with a gentle, rounded and harmonising effect.

Use rosewood for special occasions; the wood is felled in the rainforests and is becoming scarce. Personally, I only use the oil when I really can’t think of any other alternative.
The Rosewood type is someone who overreacts quickly when things go wrong in life; this can even lead to hysterical outbursts. Rosewood certainly does have some physical applications, but there are good alternatives available for this oil. Given the vulnerable state of the rainforest where this tree originates, it is better not to use this oil for physical applications.
