Silver Obsidian Heart, 3 cm

Chakra: root chakra
Star sign: Scorpio and Capricorn

Obsidian is a natural volcanic glass formed when lava cools at lightning speed. Silver obsidian is a special variety which acquires a silvery sheen or reflection due to inclusions of air or gas bubbles. You often see a shimmering haze over the black surface. This gemstone is mainly found in Mexico, the United States and other areas with volcanic activity.

The name ‘Obsidian’ is derived from the Roman Obsius, who, according to legend, was one of the first to bring a piece of this black glass to Europe. Silver Obsidian is also known as the ‘Silver Mirror Stone’ because of its reflective and revelatory properties.
