We are very often asked whether essential oils can be used on babies and children. This is possible from a certain age, but not just any oils. This is because essential oils are highly concentrated and children are less able to process them in their bodies. That is why the principle ‘Less is more’ applies to children.

To make things easy, we have developed special products for babies and children. These clearly state an age range, and the blends have been tailored accordingly. The oils used in these blends are safe for use at that age. On our blog ‘Children and essential oils’ The products and how to use them are described here. You’ll find all the information about dosage under the ‘Dosage & Use’ tab for each product.
If you’d like to start using essential oils yourself, do read on. We’ll give you some tips on which oils are safe to use and how much to use.
Below you can find out which oils are safe for which age groups. Of course, older children can also use the oils recommended for younger children.

To choose the right oil, it’s a good idea to read the information about it on our website. It’s quite a bit of research, but once you get started, there’s no stopping you 😊. For example, you can create lovely blends to use in a diffuser or put together your own bath oil. Of course, it’s also lovely to make a massage oil for those times when your little one is restless.
It is important to be mindful of the dosage of essential oil. As mentioned earlier, young children are not yet able to process the oil properly.
As well as using the oils in a diffuser and so on, you can also make use of the oils’ frequencies. This is particularly suitable for very young children. Make a mixture and place the bottle under the mattress. This allows you to harness the powerful frequency whilst ensuring it remains safe to use. The frequency is powerful enough to work through the bottle.
If your child is old enough to start using essential oils, please follow the dosage guidelines below. And always remember: LESS IS MORE!

When using these products on babies and children, only use them when you really need to. So don’t just use all sorts of scents mixed together all day long – be really mindful about it. Use the products no more than 2–3 times a day. And importantly! Pay close attention to your child… Do they like it? If not, don’t worry! Simply use the products as previously mentioned, placing them under the cot so that the scent isn’t overpowering.
If you have children under the age of 4, you can use aura sprays as room sprays. In that case, use the spray when the children are not in the room. For example, you could use a sleep spray in the room about 15 minutes before bedtime. Spray once in each corner and you’re done. This way, you can, for example, energetically cleanse the room or use the entity spray if children are troubled by ‘unwanted visitors’ during the night.
If the children are aged 4 or over, you can also use the spray as an aura spray. Start with one spray above their head and ask the children to hold their breath for a moment and close their eyes. This allows the alcohol to evaporate, so it won’t bother them.
I hope that, after reading this blog, you’ll feel confident about using these products with your children.
