Everyone is born under a particular star sign. But what exactly is it? A star sign is determined at the moment you are born. In the past, people used to look up at the sky a lot and connect the stars with an imaginary line. That is how the constellations came into being. The best-known groups of stars are the 12 constellations as we know them from the zodiac.

The glossy magazines are full of them: weekly horoscopes. You often have a quick read through them – they’re amusing – but they’re usually rather superficial and could actually apply to just about any situation 😉 And you really do have to be into star signs for this to mean anything to you. Don’t choose a field that’s likely to become boring quickly, as Geminis will get bored! What is an ascendant?
Your Ascendant is the zodiac sign that was rising on the eastern horizon at the moment of your birth, as seen from the place where you were born. To calculate your Ascendant, you therefore need to know the time and place of your birth. There are many websites where you can have your Ascendant calculated. We find this site very handy and practical.
According to astrology, your ascendant provides more insight into how you initially come across to others and how you interact with them. Your zodiac sign, on the other hand, says more about who you really are. Do you recognise yourself in the description of your ascendant? If so, you can always use the scent frequency associated with that zodiac sign for support.
Elements and star signs? What does that say about you?
In astrology, the ‘elements’ refer to the four elements: Fire, Water, Air and Earth. These are associated with four different temperaments or personality types. These four elements, in turn, have specific characteristics that influence you. You often get on very well with someone of the same element. It sometimes feels as though you speak the same language 😉
The properties of the various elements
Each element is associated with various qualities, both positive and negative. In fact, you should think of it this way: the negative qualities come to the fore when the element is out of balance. So an excess of Fire can cause someone to become bossy and impatient. So it doesn’t mean that, with your Fire element, you’re always angry 😉.
If you recognise yourself in these negative traits – if you see certain things in them that don’t make you happy – then you can start working on them.
