Myrrh essential oil is extracted from the resin of the Commiphora myrrha, a shrub that grows in dry, sunny regions of North Africa and the Middle East. The resin is carefully harvested and then processed by steam distillation to produce a rich, aromatic oil.
The scent is warm, spicy and slightly mystical, and immediately evokes a sense of calm, stability and depth. Myrrh encourages stillness and helps to turn one’s attention inwards, creating space for reflection and self-awareness.
