Himalayan salt and Epsom salt: all the things you can do with them

On our website, you can find two different types of salt find. What’s the difference, and what can you do with it? In this blog, I’ll take you on a journey into the world of salt and show you how to use it in an energetic way.

Himalayan salt: the benefits

Himalayan salt is often regarded as a healthier alternative to ordinary table salt. This is because it is an unprocessed and natural product. It also contains 84 different minerals and trace elements – albeit in small quantities – but it is still better than the refined salt we used to know. However, we mainly benefit from its energetic properties. And that really is a fantastic benefit of Himalayan salt!

The spiritual side of Himalayan salt

Many people regard Himalayan salt not just as ordinary salt, but also as something with a calming and natural energy. It was formed millions of years ago from ancient seas that dried up. As a result, it is often said that the salt carries within it a piece of the Earth’s ancient energy.

From a spiritual perspective, you can use Himalayan salt for purification and balance. Just as salt water can cleanse, this salt can also help to energetically purify the energy in a room. A Himalayan salt lamp or a block of salt It can therefore create a sense of calm in a room and make the atmosphere more pleasant.

Because salt has a crystalline structure, it is also seen as something that can organise energy. Himalayan pink salt is often associated with a grounding energy due to the fact that it contains so many minerals. This means it can help you feel calmer and be more present in the moment.

Epsom salt and its effects

Epsom salt is also known as Epsom salt. It looks like ordinary salt, but it is actually a mineral consisting mainly of magnesium and sulphate. Epsom salt takes its name from the town of Epsom in England. In the 17th century, people there discovered a natural spring with mineral-rich water. When the water evaporated, crystals were left behind. These were the crystals we now know as Epsom salt.

Chemically speaking, Epsom salt is not table salt, but a mineral called magnesium sulphate. This mineral occurs naturally in rock and in mineral springs. Epsom salt can be extracted from natural sources or produced in a controlled manner, with the same pure composition.

Following the discovery of the spring in Epsom, people began using the water and crystals for bathing and relaxation. The mineral soon became known for its ability to help the body relax. As a result, it became popular in bathhouses and spas.

It’s lovely to use Epsom salts in a warm bath. The salts help you to let tension slip away more easily, both physically and energetically. The warm water combined with the salts can give you a sense of calm, as if you’re washing away heavy energy.

Magnesium is known as a mineral that helps the body to relax. And that is precisely why, after a lovely bath with Epsom salts, you feel more relaxed and balanced. From a spiritual perspective, you can use a bath like this as a little cleansing ritual: a lovely moment to let go of the stress, worries or hustle and bustle of the day. You could actually think of Epsom salts as a sort of reset moment. Taking a little time for yourself, in silence or with soft music, whilst the water and the salts help to restore peace to your body and mind.

Using the salt in an energising bath

There’s nothing quite as lovely as a warm bath to thoroughly cleanse and recharge your energy. Prepare your energy blend in a small bowl to add to the warm bathwater. The blend consists of two generous spoonfuls Himalayan salt granules or Epsom salt and a splash neutral bath oil or a base oil. You then add 10–15 drops of your chosen essential oil. You can opt for a ready-made blend or create your own using single oils. Add some crystals to your bath too for an extra boost of energy. Sit in the warm bathwater and only then add the mixture. The heat releases the scent, and the salt and base oil or bath oil help the essential oil to emulsify with the water. Enjoy this moment of tranquillity!

Other things you can do

Create a small altar using some pretty stones and a battery-operated container filled with a layer of Himalayan salt granules and a small chunk of Himalayan salt. You can drip a scent frequency onto this to diffuse the scent. The salt acts as a kind of catalyst and ensures that the room fills with the energy of the scent frequency. Place a small dish next to your computer or Wi-Fi router and add a drop of the frequency to it every day. Electrical Stress That way, you’ll be much less affected by the radiation!

Himalayan salt granules are very easy to use in a salt mill for cooking. You can grate the larger chunks to use them in cooking as well.
